very quick turbo question

Guys,

Is it normal to have very very slight play in the turbo shaft? i have been told that this is perfectly normal and then when oil is flowing through it it stiffens right up?

I thought play in the turbo was a bad thing. Is it in the car and got the play or not fitted yet.

I was told u can have slight left to right play but no in and out play at all...

yeah a small amount of left-right / up-down is ok but and in and out is a no no, although make sure the side to side the compressor blades don't touch the housng
