Hi guys,
I recently had a leak in my stock exhaust manifold on my evo x. The car was boosting just fine despite the leak. I bought a replacement manifold and installed it at home. I only removed the manifold and nothing else. Once i tightened everything, the turbo was not boosting at all. Boost meter would go from -ve values to 0 bar and nothing more. The leak in the manifold is fixed but i have a new 0 boost problem.
I've checked the following (either physical test or swapped to equivalent part from another working car)
1. Waste gate assembly
2. Boost controller
3. Intercooler pipes, hoses, intake, blow off valve etc
I have gone fishing in the hot side of the turbo assembly in case i dropped any washers or nuts in there but i can confirm there is nothing in there.
- i have removed the intercooler pipe to inspect the turbo and the fins seem slightly warped but can spin freely. Bearings seem fine and no scratches or dings in the housing surrounding the impeller.
Any ideas what is causing it to not boost? I will be replacing the turbo but even slightly wrapped it should still spin/ boost ever so slightly.
