top speed????

Thought i'd go for a top speed run last nite (obviously on a abandoned airfield) lol. Thought all the evo 9's were limited to 157 m.p.h . However mine got to 165 b4 i had to brake. and it felt like it had a little left to give???????? No mods on car bar a de-cat .
Any ideas

They have been known to hit 168. The fatest standard VIII that I have seen hit 168.735 when it was clocked in a dutch documentary series on Jap V's European cars. It faired badly however in the crash test by ending up 14th out of 17

165? mine only went to 156,ive heard the fq400 is good for 177 but not witnessed it

i cant seem to get mine past 120 MPH, its an Evo IV. i take it they are restricted?

got my 4 gsr to 155 then the rev limiter kicked in!

think its 112 for the restricter'

im assuming the the 9 should do 170 max out.

Yes Mark, yours is restricted but that is a good thing, it means that the engine will have not been abused. I suggest that you leave it as is until you have installed some serious components and then go for it.

Mine iv took up to 150 I don't like to take it any further,
I have to admit thoug it hits 135 ish quite often,
I'm one off those people that are always is in the wrong place at the wrong time!!! Lol..

My Evo 4 also is limited to 180kph it is a good thing it means my car has not been abused but it was so frustrating when I couldn't pass an Audi a4 tdi driven by a fit bird.I was sick lol
