Wouldn't touch it with a barge pole given it has no history. Why wouldn't the last owner of given them the history when they bought it? Also sounds as if they've owned it a few weeks and are now selling it, can never be a good thing..

They also start advert by saying...

The car is finished in metalic black in great condition all panels are straight and dent free, Car pulls lovely throughout all gears.

And end the advert with..

forgot to mention I reversed into sand bag which split the back bumper I was quoted £100 to repair it

Cheers Mick.

I did ask about paperwork but they said that they have been asking the prev owner every day but still nothing!

Is a bargain though! May have to pass on it just in case of hidden issues.

That looks like one i went to view last year in sheffield, he said it was about 400 bhp......turned out to be a bag of shite when i got there, the wheels were badly curbed scratches all over the place and the rear seat looked like a scrap yard dogs bed....not to mention the stereo missing and the lash adjusted ticking there tits off. That was on a private plate aswell, oh and made a weird noise when braking. Dont be put off by me tho as im not 100% sure it the same vehicle

Did you ask how long they've owned it, Chants?

I don't understand why the old owner wouldn't just hand the service history over at the time of the sale. Personally I wouldn't buy any car with zero history even if it is a good price.

****ing animal that is, rare 6 speed?

Rare that it's not broken :meh:

They said this:

It's my car but my brother owns it, his name is on the V5, he is a trader so I am insured on his policy.

Had no answer to why they had no paperwork for it.

Asked why the brother does not sell it if he is a trader, he had no response to that question, just said to come and view it and it's the cheapest available.

@andyw08

What was the reg? I will ask them the question.

THANKS ALL

Here you go, answers to my questions, Oldest first:

Have you got the paperwork yet
Still chasing it up from the previous owner

Any luck yet?
I could sell the car 10 times over if I had the paper work the previous owner has just come back off holiday and has told me he is going to sort it out for me

Yes/No?
Not yet still waiting

Why did you not register it in your name?
No it is not I never wanted to send it as I knew I would be selling it
I have the full v5 and mot

History arrived?
No not yet

Are you a trader if you didn't register the V5?
My brother is a trader so I got the full log book and I own the car just didn't want to put another owner on the logbook

You said you have not put the V5 in your name.
Are you a trader then?
If not, what's the story behind you ending up with the car then?
Who actually owns it?

If you are interested in the car come and have a look

I asked the same question twice accidentally on purpose

I'd come tonight if you had all the paperwork for the engine modifications and Service history.
He has traders insurance and I am on it so he can get the full logbook I will give a receipt with the
I could have sold it 10 times over if I had that hence why it is the cheapest evo 8 on eBay

Paperwork?
Not yet

Still no paperwork?
I am not bothered anymore if it doesn't sell I will get it sort my self ie cam belt full service rolling road
He is messing me about I phone him every day

What's can you do price wise?
£6200 not a penny less

That's it so far

Me:
Would you give me the previous owners details so that I can confirm with him where and when all the mod's were done?
And do you have the reference number on the V5 so I can check on the VOSA website that the mileage is correct?

Answer:
I mate someone is coming down to look at it tonight

Good luck to them

Doesn't sound the best car, but probably worth a punt purely for the rare 6 speed. I think there was only about 100% of FQ300s that had a 6 speed. Quite rare indeed.

Didn't touch it mate.

Bought a 996 Twin turbo now so the Lancer will have to wait a year or two now.
