Hi got idle speed control valve probs.now also got auxiliary belt problems. Had new tensioner fitted few weeks ago great .no squeaking now. Then last night heard this really loud screeching noise while driving. Found the belt had moved over couple of tracks on alternator pully.not sat in properly. Hanging over edge of pully. Why would this happen? Is it easy to release tension so I can push it back in place? Thanks everybody.

Yes it's easy to do, half inch drive ratchet will do the job just don't overdo it or you will break the square drive. I would pull the belt off and inspect it as there maybe some damage caused, plus you can then check for any play or wear or noise in any other pulleys
