strut repair

Is it a difficult task to repair a knocking front strut. The rubber washer has worn, hence the shock absorber is rocking side to side creating the knocking noise. The shock itself is fine- oh.. it's the standard strut on E6
Don't have that kind of money for a new set, unless it's donated or at low cost.
At present the option is to get it repaired- please advice who can do this type of work

id say bin it !

put a wanted advert up for a replacement as many people probably have these lying around

if you can measure the size of the rubber washer you might be able to get a replacement
