staggered acceleration

just recently when i accelerate hard the power seems to come in waves rather than linear. At normal acceleration seems ok.

Could this be fuel starvation ? or poor spark ? Any help would be usefull.

Have you had the car mapped recently, or put on a new controller? What boost u running? When were the plugs last changed?

normal engine no maps plugs 18 months old. serviced 2 months ago

try bypassing your boost solenoid and pipe straight from turbo to actator so you run actuator pressure and see if your prob persists. this is the free check next will be replacing plugs again as they do go sometimes after that its really get it to a specialist to have the afr's checked and such things

when you say the power comes in waves? does the car miss with a jolt?

The engine pulls then hesitates and then goes again and then does it again. Not the big jolt from a split hose as had that before.

this actually happened to me last week. it happened when i replaced my HKS EVC 4 to a Blitz SBC icolour. the full throttle acceleration is as you said. part throttle is fine. theres no signs of loss of power, just the wavy rpm rise. fixed the problem by using back my HKS EVC 4. fyi, my car was fully tuned when using the HKS EVC 4. not sure if thats what it was or because the Blitz was a dual solenoid system.

forgot to mention. my car is evo9 gsr. bolt on mods only.stock turbo. 1.3/1.5bar set up.

Bypass the solenoid and run the pipe from turbo to actuator to rule out the solenoid I had this before and replacing the controller cured it

I have the same issue on my car. Some one took it out and said he thinks it could be a miss fire.

maybe give the coil packs a test.

As far as I'm aware there is no way of testing a coil pack the quickest easiest and free first test is what I said next is spark plugs and coil pack last

You can test them using a multimeter. But looking at how to do it, you're right, would be easier to do what you mentioned
