Brother used to have one, worked really well, cost him £150. However when in France the local plod were looking at it in the dash of his M3 at a service station. They left before him and waited down the road, after he went passed they stopped him and fined him £600 on the spot, and if he did not pay it his E46 M3 would have been impounded.
So he lost £600 + £150 worth of kit! Had to max out 2 cards, so just be careful if using them abroad, but yes they are good for "safety" scameras. Oh, and they are not illegal here in the UK, only jammers are illegal because they "pervert the course of justice" or some crap, seriosly, speeding is the most petty of crimes (if you can call it that), someone nicking a pack of gum from a shop is worse than speeding IMHO.
Safety my ass...just money making schemes for the goverment. Not remember on top gear when they mentioned that in Oxford they stopped using cameras on a stretch of road because the council could not afford to run them, then when plod took them over they started them up again.
However the statistics over 2 or 3 years (all for the same periods of time) showed the number of accidents and fatalities were 100% identical with & without the scameras....yes of course it's for our "safety"....honest! :wtf::wtf:
Sorry, but I hate these things, we are the most watched motorists in Europe FFS! Sooner I leave to somewhere warmer with better quality roads and less scameras the better....Japan here I come!!!
