Does anybody know the best spark plugs to put in an evo 4??

Ngk bpr7 !!!!
Std if you change on service
Or fit iridium if you like but more costly

Really? Mine's using standard £17 NGK plugs and running over 600bhp @2.1bar...

Br8es? That's what I used to put in my Kawasaki kx 125.

Lots of people told me that the Plugs with R on them are crap and don't last long is this true?

But what plugs are they? I run 1.6 bar and havent had a problem for 2 year. Plus you can get em for a tenner.

7 or 8 doesn't matter as similar heat rating. 8 is obviously higher and better for high boost/power cars. But 7's are fine. Its about getting the right gaps to suit your mods and level of performance. Iridium allow bigger gaps due to better spark but can have a shorter range at which they work. Hence steves problem at higher rpm

How about for a 98' Evo V? Not too much aftermarket on her, just exhaust and intake.

Copper or Iridium NGK Bpr8es it sounds like?
