hi, im looking at upgrading the sound system for my evo 8 i preferably want

500w sub with enclosure
2x 250W components for the parcel shelf
1000W 4 channel amp to go with it.

the plan being to bridge the sub across 2 channels and then give the components their own channels.

can any one reccomend some real decent stuff to me an where i can buy? i know what i want and how to rig it up but i dont have a clue whats the bollocks and whats not these days lol

thanks, rich

WWW.caraudiosecurity.com or co.uk not quite sure. Best place to go. I'm getting rid of ny sub for fed up of it would rather listen to the car burbling and popping

thanks mate, hehe yeah the sound of the car is good enough entertainment but i do love my music! not to bothered about fat bass but i just love a good slapping set of 6x9's (will have to go for components in this case tho!)

I find a better sound with co axial speakers rather than 6x9 that car audio site I have used for years they are well priced and have some good package deals too

6x9's? :| oh dear....

But on the more serious side, i'd make sure your battery is up for the extra load, as it can cause them to die quickly.

I have no stereo in my 9 :) or speakers for that matter. Though... saying that... i'm getting a cheap one to go in for long journeys to my mapper :D

in the end i bought this 4 channel edge amp 4x100W RMS
Halfords | Edge ED7800 Amplifier

and these vibe components 90W RMS
Halfords | Vibe Slick C6 Component Speakers

drilled a couple of holes for the tweeters in the parcel shelf and connected it all up to the amp and it sounds brilliant, now just need to uprate the fronts and possibly get a sub but im unsure wether to or not as the bass sounds good enough for me anyways.

I bought those exact same speakers to go in my front door but if I'm honest, the alpine component speakers I had in my Evo 7 were much better.

Never needed a sub in my VII as the door used to flex with the bass anyway but this car I've had to fit a sub but the sound just what I was hoping for.

oh right, well they sound good in mine cus the main impact is from the amped up rear speakers so i spose i dont need really good fronts, just somet a bit better than the crappy origionals.

dont think im going to bother with a sub either, the bass sounds ace through the rear components anyways. typical! could have bought a 2 channel amp instead of the 4....

My VII had alpine components fitted up front and the tweeters for them were in behind the A pillar trims :)

Cross overs were installed behind the kick panels

Can't tell you anymore than that as they came with the car.
