Skoda Cambelt

I have a skoda octavia 1.9 turbo diesel ( PD engine )which gets used everyday the last time it had a Cambelt was January 2009 - now people are saying it needs to be replaced again Its covered 35k since then the question is DO it need one?

These things are time as well as distance related. Evo for example is 45k or 5 years which ever comes first
