Running Problems

since last night my evo has been misfiring, idling all over the place and when the turbo tries to boost the car holds back and wont pick up any speed, Any ideas whats going on? thinking the dump valves at fault.

heres a quick spec list:

Evo 4.

HKS panel airfilter
Thrust???? exhuast system
baileys Dump Valve(trumpet type)
80,000 miles
stanard boost

and full service back in january

all this was done before i brought the car, i'm not really into dump valves, it did have a plastic hose which i removed and replaced with a silicone hose.

this is the only thing ive touched.
but ive left it on til i know what im doing.

Dump Valves can certainly do what you describe. Id say drop it into a mitsi specialist for them to take a quick look.

sounds like a spark plug or one of the coils.
Check the colour of the spark plugs first if you can.
if you find a black one at the electrodes ( tip) or a tracer line on the porcalain part of the plug then you have the problem.

If its on the porcalain part then the plug lead would need to be changed too
(if not changed with the plug then it would happen again)
