radiator help

hi guys slight problem with my radiator its an aluminium rad

i was getting my car remapped the guy who was remapping it says there is a pin hole in it somewhere.so he removed it for me and gave me a lend of one (very decent of him)


i brought the rad to a company that specialise in repairing radiators for 20 years

the problem is he cant find the hole and he has used more than enough pressure upon testing so anyone have any ideas whats wrong or experienced anything like this before?

is it something to do with heat that the radiator would be subjected to while driving and he is testing it when its cold?

he had a rough idea but it would be like trying to find a needle in a hay stack its so small

its strange

i was hoping to get it sorted out as i hate borrowing things

I suggest that you replace the radiator with the aluminium item and then pressure test it when it is full of plain old water and the system has been bled through (once it has cooled back down of course).

There may be a slight weep anywhere in the system.

From what you have stated, there are no issues with the Rad in question buddy.

Did it affect the mapping? Have you been losing coolant rapidly?

Do the old raw egg trick to block the hole lmao

thanks el i m driving the car alot with the rad he has lent me in it and ive noticed no steam or drop in coolant levels its weird

That changes the whole ball game now.

What are the exact symptoms???

If there is no loss of pressure at the reconditioners, I would like to know if they have been testing it with the Rad Cap on or off before I decide to tell you what I have already concluded! :whistling: :whistling: :whistling:

sorry el the mapper said he noticed a small bit of steam from it so he tried it with 3 different rad caps and was stil the same?

im not sure what they used when testing but a phone call in the morning will find out
