Quick question - Newbie

I have a evo 6. Have 2 locking nuts on each wheel that I have lost. Will get these removed.

For the time being can I change and remove the lower ball joints without removing the front wheels?

Bearing in mind evo 6 ball joints are different to the rest evos.

Please let me know thanks
