Questions!!

hi all, just a couple of questions for the nice peeps out there that wont mind answering, the time has come to buy my first evo,after a long year wait and i cant wait.... :awesome:

1. are all fq's uk cars
2. where or who is the best place for a hip check with all the things you need to know. e.g miles,cat's
3. whats is a reliable bhp, if possible.
4. is there anyone near me that wants to earn there self a drink and come with me to see a car, that know theses cars inside out.. i know a couple of things about them but i just know i am gonna be sucked in and end up just buying it due to excitement.. like a big kid. :whistling:


any help on this would be great!

Yes, as is the EVO VIII 260.

Assuming you're looking for an VIII or above, 400.

If its a mr 8 then it will be better than the 7.. Expect for the gearbox. 5 speeds are stronger

6 speeds are good and faily strong provided they are maintained :)

whats better an fq300 e7 or a fq300 e8?

The 8 is marginally better, but the 7 just looks rank IMO.

If its a mr 8 then it will be better than the 7.. Expect for the gearbox. 5 speeds are stronger

The 6sp is faster though and better on track, and gives more mpg on the motorway. It's a win-win gearbox, and the 5sp might be stronger but unless you're aiming for 500BHP+ the 6sp is fine. I had no problems with mine at 380 and that's the normal experience, there are no more 6sp failures than 5sp failures.
