Chaps,

Looking in to Evo ownership possibly an 8... Going to do it before the mrs's gets hold of the dough and I become a leashed man!

I work for a certain Japanese car parts specialist & can get consumables and alike at a reasonable cost & I wouldn't say I'm going in to this with my eyes shut, I'm aware it's a pricey affair!

Anyone got any constructive pointers for me what to look out for etc? I don't want to spend more than 15k on the car and I can't afford to be chucking more than say a grand at it per month on average. I like the 6's as well but I have a feeling because of the age of them they're going to ruin my life a treat.....

The names Adam by the way.

Welcome along mate. Put up links of any your interested in and people will be along with pointers and advice on what to look out for.
If you get a 6 then as long as its been looked after and not abused then theres no real reason why it should cost you more than a newer one.

LoL, a friend of mine looked at 9's and ended up with an 8.. His reason being the insurance company's broke out the KY for a 9 and the beating wasn't as bad for an 8.... I'm only 21 so insurance isn't the best, but you want these things you gotta pay ay.

Hiya and welcome along :) I'd say VI's all day long, but I'm biased as I have one

You still got the Lexus Foxy?

I thought you were looking to get shot and get another one, albeit another VI. Don't recall seeing you post your new purchase so assume you fixed the old guy up again did you?

Welcome btw.

Cant see why a 9 would be more on the insurance than an 8 as have same engine? Can understand an FQ360 or FQ400 being more than the FQ300 or FQ320 but not 8 versus 9.

As said dont be put off by the 6's. If they have good service history and been well maintained. Some nice 6 TMEs on sale if you happy to part with your cash for a sought after model

Thanks for the warm welcome.

I've not done back to back quotes on the 8-9 yet, but will do. What do we think about imports? Looks to be some tidy cars about fresh? Anywhere to avoid?
