Hi guys(and girls:razz:)
My name is Stewart and im seriously concidering buying an Evo 5/6:wub: Loads of my friends have Scoobies and other than the sound i dont see the facination:confused: And it seems that every Chav seems to have one also, The Evo to me seems to be more of a grown-up, deserves respect type of car.
I want to be looking for a tidy 5/6 on a tight budget of £4k-£4.5k which can be done just:) But i like the idea of buying one with a mildly or even majorly knackerd engine/gearbox and sorting it out.(im not mental i just enjoy it:whistling:)
Cheers peeps Stu

fair play mte i would say mildly knackered otherwise your budget will go walkies. yh it can be done and you could even get a runner on that and after you buy it you can invest some serious time upgrading everything which is more fun imo.

welcome along anyway mate

Hi and welcome. You should be able to get a 5 for 4.5 and a little over. You'll easy get a 5 with knackered ayc pump for that :) Not a cheap fix though but who needs ayc anyway :)

Not really fussed as long as its 98 or newer, I missed a 5 on pistonheads with a mullerd engine which went for £3k, found a 6 engine and box for £800:razz: The dream would be to have a glisening white tommy mack in next to standard condition, with obvious tweeks underneath:whistling:

welcome along buddy.

as already said, you would be hard pushed to get a 6 for that price but with a knackered engine you never know!!!

Hello and welcome !

Have you looked into costs of a replacement engine ? They are not that cheap and if they are then they are probably knackered anyway.

I'd be wanting to build an engine for one rather than chucking in any old engine cos you wouldn't want to have to do it all again :)
