I got there for around 9am and was greeted by Dave and the young lad went of to make the tea so while we stood there having a cuppa i asked what was in today and. Dave said its a quiet one just one car booked in a Lotus 340r it was in due to not passing the MOT due to high CO and HC readings. The owner phoned shortly to say he was running late he finally arrived around 45 mins later. So the car was put into the rollers strapped down and the wideband up the exhaust and i jumped in the passenger seat with Dave. Started to run the car up and it was apparent someone had been poking about on the map the AFR's where 11.4 - 12.2 part throttle super rich for a nasp so Dave asked the owner whats happened since i last mapped it and the owner replied a local company to him now starting out mapping the emerald had altered it to try and get it through the MOT needless to say they must of hit the + button instead of the - He then proceeded to use the benefit of the switchable maps on the ECU and set map 3 for the MOT and then went on to show and explain the closed loop settings on the emerald using the wideband feedback wired into the ECU ( effective it trims or adds to the main fuel map to the desired AFR target set is the AFR tables ) Some manual tweaking is needed. With the AFR's now back to where they should be after pulling a lot of fuel from the map it was time to remove the wideband and plumb in the basic emmitions analyzer as used in MOT tests from the car Dave could not see that screen so i was relaying the info back to him in the car handy being a tester and knowing how to understand the data and not long after the natural idle and fast idle was nicely within the limits  . Dave then went on to check the maps on map 2 and 1 and all was fine apart from a few tweeks here and there needless to say it was a good day over there and more knowledge gained  Look forward to my next time over there
