mileage goes up when parked

I thought I'd ask if anyone's got any ideas on this one..
I took my evo IV to work this morning and arrived a little early so parked up opposite work with the engine running for 5 mins,looked at the clocks to see how much mileage I'd done since filling and it jumped up by 1 :shock: ......scratched my head and thought nar that didn't happen,sure enough 2 minutes later it went up by 1 again. :wtf:

I had a very similar fault on a speedo cluster on a 2002 Renault laguna! Apparently it was switching from mph to kmh all on it's own!

Had to fit a new cluster and it fixed the fault!

i had fault with a legacy gtb
it turned out to be a bad earth on the dash

Good news is the car is a lower miler than you thought.

Turned out to be a bad earth on the engine
