For anyone interested, I am able to get hold of some proper manual boost controllers. A Dawes device not a cheap ebay job.

Dawes Device Fitment

If I can get 10 or more people interested then I can do them for £30 each delivered

And just for a personal review ask/pm fqcraigus :)

What pressure you running though it Craig?

Don't want to put a downer on the thread as they can be good but I dislike manual boost controllers, bleed valves what ever you want to call them.. Had a turbo smart on and wasn't too impressed.

Cheap alternative too three port or ebc :)

Running a stable 1.5bar doesn't spike above and good progressive boost. Yes they are the cheaper alternatives but I have pulled my standard solenoid out for space and the 3 port is under the bonnet just waiting to be mapped in, I could plum it in now but would be running actuator pressure and where is the fun in that lol

Read the link for full explanation. This is not a cheap bleed valve...

what was the problem with yours?

the dawes is cheap, easy to fit/adjust and follows the natural flow curve of the turbo so doesn't over stress it.

on a downside though it doesn't have any pretty lights.

Steel ball. Can get the ceramic (race version) but it's double price.

Can also get a switchable solenoid to run manual controller or stock actuator pressure. Which would give you a flashy light lol

The turbo smart one wasn't cheap..had it years ago when mapping my celica due to fault hks ebc, wouldn't fit one to the evo, rather the cheap evc in there now..

Found with the turbo smart one that it would over boost and would drop off boost as you get higher up the revs. I know this car vary but wasn't like the the valve was bleeding off much due to the tt turbo..roughly about 0.3bar. Just my experience that's all.

Fair enough Craig, best get the car mapped soon lol.. 1.5 can't be far off boost cut.
