Hey all,
Have a question for the technically minded among you. Just replaced the power steering pump on my Evo 9 as the pulley on the old one would start shaking quite badly at times and I didn't want the belt to come off.
The steering feels a lot lighter than it did before, not sure if there's any more play, but there is a bit. It seems to turn in and dart left and right quickly enough at speed, but it somehow doesn't quite seem right, maybe missing a bit of feel. I guess maybe I'm just used to the old steering feel.
Does the amount of power steering fluid they put in after the swap have any influence? And would it be easy to tighten it up a bit and reduce the play? Or was the old feel probably just due to the old pump not working at 100%?
