While driving along, suddenly start hearing a loud screaching noise followed by a smell of burning rubber


looks like the bolt on my air con pump has sheared, causing that to go on the piss, and the ancilliary belt was hanging off

what go's in the place of the aircon pump on the non aircon cars ?


is it easy to convert and lose some weight?

Mine has had the air con removed, i'll take some pics if you want but it doesn't look like it has been replaced with anything.
I would like to re-fit air con to mine but it looks like everything has been removed so it may be a bit costly!

So RallySlag ,
It appears that you have the rare IVRS with optional AC!!!

Remove it buddy, you will get more performance from the car. It is an easy job to do.

Once the pics are uploaded you will have no problems at all in doing it buddy.

What do i need?

or is it a case of removing things and then fitting a shorter belt?

im hoping there is no bracket that will need to be fitted in the place of the aircon pump, as they have sheared off in the block and will need drilling out

Sorry not got round to posting any pictures, i've been stacked out at work doing 14hr days. It does'nt look like you need them now anyway.
I'm definitly interested in the AC parts, i'll have to check if anything is left on mine at all. The only issue may be mine has a larger intercooler fitted to it and this may be a bit of a problem fitting the radiator.
