Induction advice...

I have an APS induction kit fitted at the moment with what I think is a K&N cone.

Here come the questions so please do try and help

Are these good?
I've read about water intake... Is it worth changing to a mushroom filter?
Will I need a remap if I change filter?
Easy job? Don't mind loosing the intercooler spray....

Any other info please...

Where is the filter located? Down low? You shouldn't have to worry about water. Unlike my old car I had an aem intake which was in the bottom of my bumper so had to be careful of puddles.

mushrooms r reccomended cos they are tried tested and work its only heat soak you need to worry about so make a plate up to box it into the corner buddy

Yea, its down low behind the bumper. Read a few threads over the road about problems.

Well kits that are low are great for cold air but when it comes to water I wouldn't risk it again, my old car would missfire when I hit a big puddle which used to worry me and I would end to.losing vtec and allsorts. Swap.it out for one higher up and section off to avoid heat soak is ny advice and in the meantime if u git a puddle.and the car missfires.do not turn the car off until its running right and all moisture is out the system or its an aa job

Get the filter behind the passenger headlight. There's a natural flow of cold air from the bumper there. I wouldn't go for a mushroom filter unless you want problems with your engine and maf further down the line. Get a nice big K&N filter with a MAF adapter
