idle control valve

Could somebody please give me an idiots guide as to where i could find this on my IV as my engine has started cutting out when warm and been told it is sticking, pics may help if possible. Thanks in advance

Not the best pic available but it is a pic none the less!!!

The easiest way to explain it to you in order to ensure that you get it is:

The idle control valve is the part that is directly below the jubilee clip.

It is the part with the Black connector plug which has a wire going into it! ;)

Try re setting the base idle first before you change it out for a new one

is this something that can be removed, cleaned and refitted to solve the problem as ive been told its a plunger type thing that can stick????

you can remove and try cleaning it with brake/carb cleaner, and idealy resetting the base idle as Jamie has mentioned (although you'll need to find someone with evoscan/cable to do this.....or down the local mitsi garage.)
