HELP!!!

I have only had my evo 8 a week and i have just found out that my AYC oil is low so i called a friend who works 4 audi to see if he could get me a top up bottle as he works next to a Mitsubishi dealer.

as he's such a good mate he got me a bottle and came round and we toped it up to the max level then went out on a 40 mile round trip.

when i got back i was quite suprised to see that the AYC oil had droped to just below the min mark?
i have waited a few hours for the car to cool down to see if it raised but it didnt.

i have followed the pipes from the bottle in the boot all the way down to the diff and there is no sign of a leak everything is bone dry.

so why would this be happing?

all advise welcome!!!!

thanks

rich

um ?
have you checked your ayc diff oil ?
it could be low or have air in it.
how many times have you topped it up?
if its just the once then dont worry about it mate.

The dif is def relevant to the AYC top up. If there are no leaks in the system then the only plausable answer untill further investigation is that the AYC system had an air lock:confused:

The 40 mile drive has sent the air out and the fluid you topped it up with initially has settled. If you have topped it up again then check the level in the morning.

Normally when I do a bleed I let the car run on the ramp for around ten minutes and then top up. It is best to do a slowly slowly top up then right to the max in one go.

If you have topped it up again and it is on the min level in the morning and there are absolutely no leaks then you will need to open the bung on the inner wall of the dif and see what colour it is as the AYC fluid may well be trickling into it.

Keep me posted.

The bung will be on the dif near wall that is facing towards the engine. You will notice that it requires a Hex Key to open it.

That's the one buddy!!
