Garages!

I went to two local garages today to ask if they would take a look at my diff and do a few small jobs on the 4, they have both looked after my Elgrand in the past ... to my surprise when I said the word EVO they BOTH turned round and said 'No Chance, get rid of it!'

One of the garage owners even owned an Evo 1 and Evo 6 in the past!!

But, on another note I was pointed in the direction of a fella that might help me out, it just happens that he is a rally driver who rallies an Evo 9! and he does all the work himself, after a phone call he is more than happy to help me out! so there may be light at the end of the tunnel afterall!!

Wouldn't take mine to the "local garages"
If I wasn't so concerned about keeping the service book stamped I'd probably try to do most work myself.

Good job you've got a good contact now, might be able to learn something and help out doing the work on it.

Hello mate, yeah, that's a good idea!.. will be handy to learn the tricks of the trade! brought myself a toolkit the other day, I figured I might need one! :blush:

That's just stupid. Why would they say that? Surely you owning an EVO would generate them enough revenue to stay open in this economy :whistling: seems backward, especially if one has owned them himself. :hm:

Makes me laugh with these garages that get scared at the thought of lifting the bonnet on an evo. One of my local garages who I have used for years the boss looked embarrassed when he found out I did the work I originally asked him to do and so he should cos I'm no where near a mechanic.

Evo ownership if a full time job and its the love of the car that keeps me going, I dnt scare easily.

Imo keep the evo and learn what you can from matey boy with the 9

He should be embarrased too being a mechanic and all

Some garages won't as they're specialist cars and won't risk working in them. I had it with my old 6 when I wanted it tracking.

When I first got my evo I took it to my local garage I always used to have the cam belt changed. I told them what car I had and they turned round and said sorry wouldnt know where to start with it :wtf:
