Hi all,
I'm new to the forum and also to the Mitsubishi Evo "family".
Just bought a 2009 (59) FQ330 Evo X with SST transmission.
It has 57k on the clock.
Only had it a month and I have a yellow warning on the dashboard display with a cog and an exclamation mark in it. Service required also appears underneath the icon.
I have loss of 2,4,6 gears, only having 1,3,5 to select.
Is this a common issue and is this an expensive problem, maybe ?
Cheesed off to say the least.
It is booked in at WK AUTO SOLUTIONS in Long Eaton on 4th January.
Just thought I would ask the thoughts of the more experienced amongst us ;-)

Cheers

Thanks Liffy.......haven't driven it for a week since the problem occurred. Got to wait another week before it goes in and it's driving me nuts. Missing the power like mad lol

Well, the car has gone to the Evo Specialist in Nottingham. Seems to be a gearbox solenoid problem. Previous owners not changing the gearbox oil and filters regularly appears to be the reason.
So we are going for a strip down, clean out (box and solenoids),replace filters and oil.
Hopefully that will cure the issue. £550.
After having parked he car up over Christmas and New Year, the even gears came back again hence why it seems likely it's a solenoid that's causing the issue.

I think we have the culprit with the broken gearbox.
Broken piston and spring on the mechatronic unit.

Does anyone know where I can source a knackered mechatronic unit so that I can get the bits off it ?
