forge actuator what a difference

changed my actuator today as my old 1 was playing up a bit (not holding boost) it wasnt as easy as i thought it would be but i done though it took about 2 hours as im a amature lol,but what a difference its made i fitted the blue spring and after £30 worth of v-power and the local carraige way i managed to set up the avcr i cant beleive how hard it comes on boost the gauge goes straight round to 2bar and holds about 1.7 @ the redline.best mod so far

are u running on stock internals in that boost? any rod job done?

hi mate yes standard rods lol i brought the car with all the work done to it but the guy i got it off said the previous owned had put rods in it but i have no receipt suprise suprise.it was mapped at trl 15k miles ago though and still going strong running 400hp and 380lb ft

Boost

Was your car not holding boost in any gear as the forge sounds good does it pull harder at lower revs I find the avcr can adjust the boost at all revs

no mate wasnt hold boost in any gear it just gradually got weaker and weaker untill the point where i had to set the avcr to 2.5 bar and then i could only hit 1.9bar but it was all over the place sometimes it was 1.6,1.8,2.0,1.7 all over pal plus if you floored it in 2nd or 3rd and watched the boost gauge it was really slow to react but now it just whizzes straight round i was using a evo 8 actuator and yes pal def puls harder low down

im getting weird boost control after indigo fitted mt tubby hey set up my avcr and the car was awesome but laggy with standard tubby and i couldnt adjust gear based settings basically i was roughly set up now ive got the boos set up so i can control everything but just doesn pull as hard but least is right way it was before wasnt normal for a 6 and wasnt point having a avcr that couldn control the boost in different gears

What are your fb settings mate?also if honest I've turned learn gear off as I find it keeps changing boost pressure.ive just set mine at 2.05bar and 2.10 bar ay 5500-6500 rpm and 82% duty and it's spot on its really stable mate I even hit 1.8 in 1st gear that's without learn gear on so I can't adjust pressure per gear it's a shame your not a bit closer as I could of had a look for you

Chatting to mark shead (MA developments) the other day and he turned all the stuff off on my mates Evo and left it to do the basic feature

He also reverted my car from using the avcr to leaving it to the ecu

Boost

Mine are 3,2,5,4,4 ,72% gives me 1.6 bar my learn gear is playing up as I may have a actuator fault i can get stable boost but doesn't go into learn gear it used to easily so at mo but boost at set point is flat I need to give the car a good blast then reset unit also I've set up my gear judge tbh when indigo did my tubby and rough set my boost she was rampant but like I said what's the point having a avcr if you can't adjust it it was set dangerous the way it was as it spiked a lot and couldn't floor it just in case it over boosted like a lot of the time it did 1.9 bar on standar rods at times

Right your FB settings should be a higher number in the lower gears and then get lower I.e 55543 this is what mine is set to but dude if you think your actuator is playing up just change it for a gorge one it's def worth it

Wil check weekend Avcrs can be tempermental at times took me a long time to get used to it and they can do so much but great when set propally

Easiest way! Or get a boost controller that isn't stupid.

i sold my avcr and now my ecu controls and hold boost fine with a 3 port solenoid :O)
