Wont put full story but bought something new from a company, ends up being faulty, they told me to contact the makers, which i have, its still not really got anywhere as they need a invoice stating when i bought product to get stuff done under warrenty, been going on for over a month now, still havent got it sorted, at first i wanted to get it swapped, but now i just want my money back, as soon as i noticed fault i let company know, its been used, obviously otherwise wouldnt know its faulty.

any advice? Im looking at the sale of goods act and says i should be entitled to a refund, the company in question havent been arses or anything, but im getting ****ed off with not having said product when i could do with it.

I know a few of you trade or may of seen things like this before, ive never had a problem with anything so not had to do this. WAnt to try be friendly but dont want to get fobbed off

The sales of goods act states that within 28 days of a purchase, if the goods are faulty they must do one of the following, refund repair or replace, and it's up to them which one they do.

What is it you bought? And how long ago

camera, it was more than a month ago, but i emailed them within that time telling them of the fault and they past me onto the makers saying sort it with them as it has warranty, but 45 days later still have it sat at home. I want my money back over anything, going to email them now

It's common for retailers to direct you to the manufacturer, however that's just a smokescreen used by bad traders and traders that don't know the law as the manufacturer has nothing to do with this, your contract is with the vendor. As already stated, yes you have the right to a refund. However did you buy this online? Or from a shop? If you bought it online you have even greater rights under Distance Selling Regulations. Under DSR you are entitled to a refund regardless, even if the item *isn't* faulty.

It sounds like you're dealing with an annoying vendor, but you are defo in the right, however it's not easy exercising your rights in this country.
