Been reading about this on the net for a while now, after 4 months of ownership i noticed a couple of odd running issues, nothing major, just enough to notice a difference.

Its common knowledge the relays are rubbish from initial release and a couple of starting issues led me to check the relay, sure enough the shake test with the grain of sand noise was enough to look into a new relay, mitsubishi had a green relay fix, then changed to a blue one, now a black one part number mr122409 being the current part , 22 quid.

Opened up the old relay and the switch inside was plainly stuck on the worn contacts.

So if your relay is rattleing when shook change it.

For those not in the know like myself theres no harm in a reminder.... Relay location and the explanation

The list of known changes

Mine was indeed an original 2008 relay and when i broke it apart you can see where the wear is, it had actually bonded it self togeather so it wasnt flicking the lever up and down off and on the contact

Where the old relay was a sealed unit the new one looks as it you can pull off the outer casing

Just a gentle reminder for any x owners with a starting issue where it wont actually catch and just cranks or the rev counter on idle behaves a little erratically over a 3-4mm movement onstart up which were my symptons
