A good second hand transfer box around £400. 2hrs tops for someone who knows what they are doing to fit it.

On a 8 the subframe will have to be dropped to get the box out, it not the best job in the world, you will also need to get acd bled up and steering geometry checked

Thankyou for the help, its appreciated. I thought it was going t be abit of a pricey job. Just my luck :(

Out of curiosity, what would be best, getting my transfer box referbed, getting a second one, or a new one?

Depends on what's wrong with the transfer but usually if they are bust then they are scrap.

If it was me and the box is just noisy I'd be getting it reconed, maybe a bit more expensive but you'll get piece of mind all the bits inside are new or inspected plus you'll get a warranty with it, second hand can be hit or miss

Thankyou Geoff, thats appreciated
Went t Mitsubishi and spoke to one of their technicians and he said it will be best to change all the oils and then take it from there. Still going t be roughly 200 just for that but fingers crossed, that will sort the problem and i dont have to get a new transfer box or get mine refurbed

Had her in at Mitsubishi. Oil all changed in transfer case etc. Which was completely black! A couple of faults showed up on the diagnostic for the ayc. But, they have now discovered what the problem really is. I need a new centre diff! :( Mitsubishi have quoted me over 5 grand!! If i hadnt of been sitting down, think i would of fell over, lol.
Found a Quaife center diff tho for just over 750
Any help or recommendations would be very appreciated. Thankyouuuu
