Evo V Speaker size/Door card removal

Hello guys, newbie here! Posting on behalf of my dad who's pretty computer illiterate to say the least. Anyway what we need to know is what size speakers are in the Evolution V? And what's the best way of removing the door cards to remove/change speakers? Thanks

Hi and welcome to the Forum buddy!!!

Speaker size is not really of interest to me but if you type speaker size into the search bar up top, you will find the dimensions for sure

As for removing the door cards:

There is a screw behind the door opening mechanism and one in the pull handle/cubby too.

Once you have removed those two screws, you will need to prize the card from the bottom left hand side and give it a gentle tug towards you.

Be gentle or you will damage the card(s)/clips!!!

Once you hear the clip detach, you can prize the rest which are all the way around the card.

Once they are all detached, lift the card upwards, but do remember to remove the window controller switches or the connecting plugs when doing so.

And remove the parts which the screws hold in place ie the trim behind the inside door release and the handle you close the door with.

There are 2 other screws aswell taking the total to 4

I'm pretty sure the front speakers are 7" in diameter

I am pretty sure they are 7" too but don't like to hazard guesses to be honest with you.

I have taken that many out over the years you would think that I would know by now!!!

so where are the other two screws then???

I looked into replacing my speakers and read that they are 7" but I don't no if they have to be a certain make or depth cos I've not tried any as yet


One screw on the face of the door card with black cap covering it and it in the area covered by the dash board when door is closed. The other is on the side of the door card, top corner latch side as apposed to hinge side.

Yea I had my door cards off the other day to change the handles

ive uprated all my speakers and im pretty sure there 7" but i got 8`s in mine
