evo v boost issue

Hi everyone. I'm new to all this so please bare with me. I've just bought a 5 and am having boost problems. For some reason, as soon as i get to 3-4 gear under boost the car starts to splutter and run really rough and doesnt want to progress through the rev range. I know little about the car, engine wise aside from its had a larger turbo, group n head gasket and an apexi avc-r boost controller. If anyone has any ideas, or can offer any help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

What's your boost controller set at? If you turn it down do you still have the same issue?

Hiya m8, thanks for replying. Tbh, i have absolutely no clue. Ive not been given the manual for the controller with the car. I was given a reciept from alan jefferies tuning in devon, so called them. Unfortunately though, they no longer had the data for the work they'd done to it, so i'm totally at a loss tbh. But this boost thing is really starting to get right on my tits.

Start by finding a way to turn it down, there's a chance that the injectors can't provide enough fuel at high boost. If you turn it down and all is good then you know that's your issue. If it's not that then you could have a boost leak somewhere, so it's worth giving it a good check over making sure all your clips and hoses etc are in place and secure. Failing that I'd take it to a tuners/get some diagnostic equipment so you can log fuel trims etc etc

Cheers Andy. I've jus printed off the manual for this apexi avcr, so i'll check it out n see how it goes
