Evo stock pistons and rods

I'm wondering with new rings can evo 8-9 pistons fit in to a evo 5 engine block?

I'm looking at putting some forged rods in to my evo 5 engine, not looking to run massive power (400bhp) so don't want to run forged pistons as such? As I've read the evo 5 pistons can't take after market rods ?

Any help would be greatfull

Evo 1-9 pistons and rods are interchangeable

Only the evo 10 piston can fit an aftermarket rod with no issues.

You will need to machine the pistons to fit the rods.

No bud, 4-9 pistons need to be machined to take the aftermarket rods. Plenty have had the rod job done to good results. You can keep your pistons that way.

Evo 6-9 pistons can be machined to take forged rods but Evo 5 ones can't.

If your looking for 400 bhp then get standard 8 MR or 260 rods and pistons cos they will be direct fit
