:confused:Hi people, any ideas ?
My fq300 just started missing a beat when accelerating, just read an error
code p0105 map sensor. Been doing a bit of searching to find its on the throttle
body that looks easy to change. But,,, just de-cated the car and didnt
do it before ! Does it need mapping to sort this ? oh also fitted a different
induction cone filter to replace the hks mushroom i was running and had
to tilt the maf housing to one side to fit better. Thanks:razz:

shouldnt be missing just because you have done a couple mods, if the map sensor is a fault get it changed then have the car mapped thats the best bet, you not left the maf unplugged have you?

well i dont all stage 1 mods and drove around for a few months even with higher boost (not over the top) before i got the map looked at and tinkered with, and i have the same 8 fq300. the map sensors do mess up time to time. when moving the maf about did you have it off at all? could anything have touched of damaged the wire that runs through the center of it?

If the maf is at fault the car should tick over the same or better with it unplugged.

Is it hunting / missing on idle too or just missing on boost?

Tickover is perfect it dont miss a beat, taking it into boost its just like you turn the
ignition off for a split second and turn it back on again. Happend again today twice but
drove fine the rest ! .
Checked the maf craigus havent really messed with it just unpluggged. getting it scanned for faults again later see if anthings logged

Hi, no haven't could be a start I suppose, didn't log any faults and seems to
Be holding back a lot in higher revs, kinda like if you had a spark plug lead down
Back in the day lol, also been reading about coil pack failures maybe

Coil Pack failure would cause a misfire throughout the rev range.

Plugs might be a likely issue but I'm kind of leaning towards it being a loose or split vacuum hose somewhere.

Remove the Plugs and examine them one by one and remember which one came out of which chamber, for assessment purposes.

Change the lot if you want, they're only around a couple of quid each....

Check all of the vacuum hoses from the Air Intake to Solenoid to Turbo and pay close attention to the hoses around the Intake Manifold.

Keep us in the loop.

Update !!
fitted over the weekend set of iridiums, old plugs didnt look great..
Took her out for a spin still the same ! checked all hoses 4 times over, even changed
a couple of vacum hoses.. After driving it a little longer noticed in high boost it did
it again and heard the re-cerc blow off !! Pulling my hair out at this time lol,
After a bit of digging about i was told of a local tuning place near by that had a
pretty good rep with evos and all thing nice.. Though id nip her down last sat morning.
A very nice man with frendly advice said.. it needs mapping, its going into limp mode in higher boost. told him about the de-cat id just fitted and said without a doubt.
Well its booked in for stage 1 a week on saturday.. so hopefully see a result then !
Or a diagnostic maybe ???:hm:
