hi all, my dads evo ocassionally has the 3 lights come on on the AYC, but he's had it for over 3 years maybe 4 and hes never changed the AYC/diff oil, ive read that this should be changed every 4.5K or so.

So we are going to change the oil first before taking it to a garage, i was just wondering if someone could point me in the direction of the AYC oil drain plug and where to refill it from, from what ive read it sounds like its just a simple drain and re-fill? any advice is much appreciated!

thanks!

yeah mate, ayc controls the rear diff only.

Not strictly true. Evo VIII also has acd which is part of the same system and will also need bleeding.

To do the acd simpley locate the bleed nipple on the transferbox and connect a bit of tube to a empty bottle. Then undo the nipple and with the ignition on but car not running press and hold excelorater to the floor. You will hear the Ayc pump buzz as it pumps the fluid through. If the pump stops then press the pedal again although you might have to turn the ignition off and back on first.
This will need about half a litre or so of fluid taking into account the amount of fluid held in he resivour or just keep going till you see clean fluid :)
