Evo 6 cutting out on Idle

Hi people
I picked up a Evo 6 GSR been driving fine but the past couple weeks its been hunting abit on idle it goes up to about 1.5 to 1.8k rpm, but sometimes it will idle fine. Then last night I was driving and pull into a petrol station and it just died on me as i came to a stop then if i started it up again it would run for a second then cut out again, it would only stay running if i gave it a bit of throttle, once i filled up i drove home and it continued to cut out whenever I would come to a set of light or a junction.

So I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction of where to start?

If Had to guess I'd say Idle Speed Controller also called a stepper motor
It's a basically a choke that lets more or less air into the engine to control
the idle
OEM Part Number is MD614921
DO NOT GO TO THE DEALER as they want an eye watering £448.81 + vat
Just search with the part number the usual suspects, Rosssport, Viamoto, Coordsport or eBay
