evo 4 transfer box bleeding :s?

hi i recently bought an evo 4 with a blown engine so replaced the engine but discoverd the transfer box was shaterd aswell! so i waited till after christmas to get a new one i found one last week 400 quid appently onli 35000 miles. when i collected it the guy was saying once its fitted it will need bleeding wich i belived bt after futher inspection an doin my homework im not convinced has anyone heard of this before ? an what are the small holes that marry up from gearbox to transfer box looks like it could pass oil but i dont kno why the oil would mix from gearbox to transfer box... thanx guys

did you buy a evo 7/8/9 transfer box as these will need the acd bleeding through it.
is there a traditional looking bleed nipple on the underside or no ??

also when you look through the holes where the output shafts go can you see a pin (about 4-5mm thick) going from one side the hole to the other ?

as lee said a later one will need the ayc bled.

hi mate yeah was off a 4, it has the rubber bung on top bt no niple on the bottom and yes it does have the pin goin through the middle wher the input shafts meet! thanks guys im realy stuck n dont want to damage the box again i could of cried when i heard it clunkin its brains out....

there has be talk over the years that it allows oil to pass between the 2 but im unsure of the conclution

Its acts as a breather between the 2 and will over spill into the transfer box if you over fill the gearbox

make sure you replace both o rings one where the transfer casing goes into the box and the o ring where the breathers meet otherwise your garage floor will look like a oil slick lol
