Hi Guys,

As I'm sure some of you are aware, my Evo 4 is in the garage awaiting an Evo 6 Engine to go in. Should be ready Wednesday! :D

I want to change the downpipe and de cat as soon as i get it back.

At the moment I have a cat back magnex system.

Can anyone tell me if it would be ok to, for example, to use a scorpion downpipe and de cat with the magnex cat back system? In simple terms will all deferent makes of sections fit up with others.

Reason I ask, is because I can't find a magnex downpipe for sale anywhere and I know scorpion are a good make, so I was thinking about popping one of those on. :D

Ideas will be very much thanked.

Cheers

Ollie

There will be no problems getting then to mate.

Go for it.

I would personally try and go for a Rally Down Pipe or something a little bigger as it will be of more benefit in the long run.

If there is nothing wrong with your existing down pipe then why not just change the cat for now????

Happy hunting.

El,

Are you saying that a different sized downpipes will fit difference sized de cats and so on - Do you get what i'm saying in lamo terms.

I thought the biggest you could get was a 3" downpipe - Is there bigger?

Cheers,

What you have to consider is that there are 2 types of measurements that are made when it comes to exhausts. Inner diameter and outer diameter.

The scorpion downpipe that i think you are thinking of has a 3" outer diameter. In actual terms, it is a 2.75" exhaust.

The connections are always the same size as they follow a universal pattern which is dictated by the vehicle manufacturer.

You can get exhausts that are non conformist (over sized) but they are usually made for a complete system or they tend to reduce at the connecting points in order to create a correct fitment.

Hope this helps:D

Standard down pipe is fine as long as you have a decat you will get a fair amount of power. waste of time buying the all in one if all you have to di is fit a £20 decat to get the same effect imo.
