Evo 4 detecting crankwalk

Hello well I need to get a new car soon now,

Problem is evo5's are not poping up if they do they are just mint ones out of my price range.

So my questions is how can you detect crankwalk ? Or symptoms leading up to it.

How quickly will it go bang between sounding feeling good and all going wrong ?

Cheers

Thanks, so that idea of checking the play, can you do that easily without taking bits out the engine bay ? If I went to see a car I need ways of checking,

If it all seems fine how long before it wears ? Any ideas

Cheers

the very first time i bought a evo 4 i asked the same question on another evo forum ;) any ways i was told to get a friend to press the clutch all the way down whilst u r under the car "drivers side" and measure how much movement the crank pully as...... cant remember the figures that i was told as this was over 9yrs ago now lol.

craig

also wasnt there a evo 4 with a evo 6 engine for sale on here not long ago? u thought about that route if u cant afford a 5 mukka :)

If you really want an Evo 5, save and buy one rather than settling for a 4. You'd probably end up wanting it to look like a 5 and buying all the conversion parts and spending even more.
5's look more aggressive, nicer interior, better engine (all my opinion, of course) :)
