evo 4 cuting out on boost

hi, i have an evo 4 which runs well, but for some reason when its under hard boost it shuts off for a second and looses power, however if i put my foot down slowley it doesnt do it. under hard exceleration it always does it. is it overboosting? or is one of the rubber air pipes contracting together to stop the air getting in? ant ideas.. thanks

Sounds very much like overboost to me.

May need a wastegate actuator upgrade,know issue on the 4,water gets in a corodes,the later ones have a seal to stop it

Could be a few things, coil packs, Fuel cut or Boost cut.. If there is a sharp jolt when it happens, its most probably Fuel cut, which can be solved with a remap, but you would need a different ecu as the 4s one isnt mappable.. Id def get a new actuator as well, like which was mentioned above, they rust and jam really easily on the older one's
