Egr valve

Hi I'm new to the site I've recently Bort n evo 6 it's in mint condition apart from the manifold was cracked due to heat witch I new about and wasn't able to repair it, so I've Bort another manifold, but now run in to another problem the pipe that runs from the manifold to the egr valve won't fit. Can u take the egr valve off and just blank the holes and all the pipes off or is it not that simple. Any advice will be great full thanks dave

Its not EGR its SAS and yes you can take it off, is the new manifold aftermarket?

Yer it's n aftermarket 1 that's what was on it before but this is just slightly different mans better quality it's come with 2 blanking plugs on the manifold but the pipe won't thread thro the manifold like it did before. So can u just blank the other pipes of that go to the sas value cheers for the reply

not meaning to hijack your thread OP, but what is this SAS? whats its function?

I believe it's working fine the car runs spot on

Secondary air system, its used for emissions purposes by allowing air into the exhaust manifold but also has a cooling effect on the turbo but the SAS can be used in conjuction with fuel to make antilag (pops and bangs)

By taking this of then it won't affect any thing like mot or running problems?
