Good afternoon all

Currently drive a JDM Integra Type-R but have been having naughty thoughts about getting an Evo - probably a IV as they are similar money.

Want to find out a bit more about the IV's hence joining this forum.

If anyone fancies a deal with my integra drop me a pm including all details and i may well be interested.

I only drive 6 miles to work and 6 miles back a day, would this be an issue if i were to own an Evo (i'm concerned about oil temperatures etc)?

Look forward to finding out about them and hopefully owning one very soon.

All advice will be gratefully received.

thanks in advance.

Hey mate, welcome to the forums.. you wont go far wrong with a 4 to break you into Evo ownership.. I have only just got rid of mine to go slightly newer with a 7, but the raw power and feel of the earlier evo's is much nicer :D

As long as the car is reg serviced, warmed up and down before/after driving, you wont have any troubles with the oil temps mate, although 6 mile journeys will gobble the fuel ;)

cheers buddy

I have been reading up on the IV's and everyone seems to say the same type of thing, ensure it's serviced regularly and it'll be fine.

I'm right in thinking as long as i have a Turbo Timer i can drive to work and park up without worrying?

Yes mate, a turbo timer just makes things easier.. but its not just 4s, every evo needs servicing every 4500 miles or 6 months (which ever comes first)

Am i correct in thinking it just needs an oil and filter change every 4500 mile or 6 months?

yes mate every 4500 it needs

Oil Filter
Engine Oil
Sump Washer
AYC Fluid
Sundries

but at different miles needs other fluid changes (brake fluid etc) plus a few other bits and bobs.. different services range between £100 and £400
