Confused over fuel

Can't wait to go back to nurburgring and use the 108 octane pump fuel :twisted:

I've used tesco 99 as much as V power with no ill effect. I'd personally use whichever I came across first.

I guess a UK X has allowances in the standard map for the lesser 95 Ron we use??

From what ive read Higher octane is the stability of the fuel under load and higher temps. So less chance of the dreaded PRE DETONATION (shudder)

Just use shell.. and get a loyalty card earn points and get free fuel, its not much but better than nothing lol..

If you have a shell station near then use it imo, if not use the highest octane availible to you

What is your access to tesco or shells 99ron fuel?

If you can get it readily then just use that it's maybe a few £'s a tank more to use it.

But yes you could quite easily do what you said, I wouldn't worry about giving it two weeks, just fill up with 99 run it down to half a tank, fill up again and do a track day.

I'd recommend the additives and octane boosters but they are a different kettle of fish/mine field lol

if you can only get lower grades then think about getting the car remapped with a few tweaks but with using the lower grade fuel, then you know your not going to be melting pistons

i heard that if you use 95 then its got more "pollutants" or residue that will eventually maybe damage the engine..?
i try and use tescos 99 as much as i can.
however any one know about fuel options in europe?
im thinking of a gumball down to spain this year and wondered whether they/france have the same options?!

also all this talk of mapping. im going to get mine done, as i want more speed. but how does it really work. does fuel, new exhausts etc really make a difference?!?

Fuel in France you can get 98 I'm sure, as is Belgium and Germany.

No need to map for that though.
