confused about turbo specs

hi all,

i get confused when choosing turbos. i understand i have to sacrifice a bit of spool time when aiming for about 450hp.

whats the significance of the turbine fin size? im led to understand that the size of the compressor fin determines the hp output of the turbo,right?

could a td06 20g spec turbo be able to produce 450hp? im looking to daily boost at 1.3bar and hi boost of 1.5bar.

Td06 is a bigger exhaust turbine than the td05. Therefore capable of more exhaust flow but takes longer to spin up to max.
20g is again bigger than std 16g therefore more air flow into the engine. Producing more power at less boost. But again takes a little longer to spin up to max.

Simply put bigger meens slower.

td05 is the size of exhaust fin... the bigger, the laggier and more airflow-able (boost).
155g is the compressor fin... the bigger, more air can flow and more power.
10.5T is 10.5mm cross section size of the exhaust fin and its Titanium? i read it somewhere.

so compressor size is directly proportional to the exhaust fin size via complex RnD calculation? is that why, we cant only increase the compressor size without having to increase the exhaust size for response? i mean it would be awesome to have a super response with a huge compressor, right? will that cause some sort of balancing issues?

10.5T is the exhaust house size and the T does not mean Titanium.

A 80 series turbo off the evo 9 will provide will spool quicker and provide more boost. There is a Titanium option off the RS model.

To be honest you wont make 450bhp at 1.5bar - what spec is the engine?

about the 450hp target, im not aiming it with my stock turbo but, just want to know if a 20g turbo can.

my cars spec right now is more or less just bolt ons and boost up. now im just in the waiting line for the garage to install:

ams intcooler kit and hardpipes
yellowjackets coil
dw 1000cc injectors
dw 320lph fuel pump
kinugawa 25g compressor kit
kinugawa 1.2bar actuator
ecutek reflash

You won't get to 450bhp even on an 80 series just using bolt on mods, you would have to look to forge. That would give you safe reliable power

Think a good 99% would tell you to forge maybe rod job if you want to run that sort of power ;)

You will get 450 with those mods.
But how long it lasts is the problem.
Forging would be your best bet to get 450 to last any time or your looking at a blown engine very soon.

Forging however does NOT give you more power but instead the ability for more power :D
