NEWS FROM CASTLE COMBE ACTION DAYS - March 2011
*
20 Days to Go
*
Unlike the clock counting down the times to the opening ceremony at the 2012 London Olympics, the clock in the circuit office is ticking away well and showing that we have less than 500 hours to the start of the 2011 Action Day season.
*
Performance car drivers will venture out onto the circuit at 09.00, on Saturday 9th April to enjoy some of the most cost effective track time available in the UK.*
*
Action Days are a blend of club displays and all-out track action, with the Spring Performance Car Action Day the busiest of the lot.*
*
Currently well over 1,000 performance cars from around 80 clubs are attending putting on some great displays throughout the paddock and adjacent areas.*
*
Currently, by make, Vauxhalls probably just have the edge in numbers with over 100 cars, with Peugeots and Subarus not far behind.* But that could all change on the day.* Clubs booking exclusive sessions include UK Saabs, Weekend Racers who make the long journey down from Liverpool and Briskoda, who last year won the Club Stand of the Year award.
*
Drifting displays have been an exciting feature of the performance action days for some years and this year we will have a double dose of smokin’ and tyre shreddin’ with displays at 12 noon and 3.30pm.
*
Look out too, for the Launch Motorsport Evos immaculately prepared and among the most powerful cars here who are offering a few lucky spectators the ultimate hot lap passenger rides with the money raised being donated to the “Run for the Rising Sun” appeal for the Japanese Tsunami victims families.
*
Within the trade area there is a great selection of specialists selling anything from clothing to tools and don’t forget too that Merlin Motorsport stock one of the best ranges of motorsport equipment in the country, so pop into their showroom.
*
A Plan Insurance will be here with a specialised performance car insurance team, so do pay them a visit.
*
Although time is short, if you are a club or run a web-based motoring group then there is just still time to apply for display space, admission tickets and reduced price track time so please email maria@castlecombecircuit.co.uk for an application form.
*
If you are an enthusiast and just want to enjoy the challenge of Castle Combe Circuit then track time is available at £30.00 per session plus £8.00 admission charge, plus a handling fee of 50p to cover post/credit card charges.* You need to hurry and book by not later than Tuesday 5th April or on the day the prices are £35.00 for a track pass, plus £10.00 admission for Adults with under 16’s admitted free.
*
Full information on the Action Days can be found on our website Castle Combe Circuit or for further information or to purchase passes phone 01249 782417 or for any further information email maria@castlecombecircuit.co.uk.
