Buying tips for an evo FQ340

Im looking at buying an evo within the next 6 months. Please could you let me know about anything i must check when i start viewing cars.

Are there any common faults that I need to look out for?

All the usual checks you'd do when viewing a car. No common faults with the Evo.
Just make sure all the lights come on the dash when ignition is turned on.
Not a fault but common con is to remove the AYC/ACD bulb
