Broken Evo X gearbox

The SST gearbox on my Evo X has gone bust after only 16,000 miles! Well, a solenoid got stuck, so I couldn't select any gear.

I've been told by the dealer that they aren't allowed to strip down and fix the SST gearbox (there were a couple of other electrical problems, apparently),so my car is getting a brand new box. Glad it's being done under warranty!

Has anyone heard of similar problems with other Evos?

I have heard of a few SST boxes with 'electrical' problems and they have all been exactly the same as your - new box under warranty!
One as low as 700 miles.

Also heard a few roumours about them being weak and not good if you increase stock power.
