So i bought an fq300 X (wed 27/07/16),its been 3 days and i'm grinning like a cheshire cat. But under gentle braking i was getting the infamous brembo squeal. The previous owner did point out about a month ago he had front discs and pads replaced, so my assumption is that he hadnt bedded them in properly. So today i thought i'd take them apart and have a look.
What i found was the pads (not sure of make) appear to be a fraction oversized. They have formed a step on the outside edge (approx 1mm) so they are running beyond the limits of the disc.
So my cure was to rub the pad on a curb stone and chamfer the step to a gradual slope, (like you would do on the leading and trailing edge of an older style pad). This seems to have done the trick .... No more embarrassing squeal at junctions and roundabouts [emoji23]
I apologise for not getting pics but i was in a rush, had to sort brakes, re position front (front bumper off) & rear cameras and obviously give it a thorough good clean ready for Beaulieu tomorrow.
Hope this helps as a possible cause and remedy for squeal to other evos.
