before i take the plunge....advice..

currently got a ver 2 STI and it's currently having it's head gaskets done..
now things against this car, it's got a bit of filler in the rear door, had a bit of paint, and the N/S hub is a UK ABS, so it's had a knock at some time..

now due to the engine rebuild i am seriously thinking about leaving the flat four brigade and coming over to the evo posse..

so what are the pro's and con's of evo's ??

i'm looking for a evo 3, 4 or a 4 with 6 kit (i must admit i love the 6 but can't afford one) or a cosworth (old school ford fan)

i've seen a evo 3 GSR on eblagg for a few weeks in red at £2,200 which i think is cheap, but it's what i'm after..
but i also saw a IV at £1,995 (buy it now £4,000) which didn't sell so would that have been a good price ?? £1,995 ??

what do i need to look for, and expect to pay..

don't want loads of mods, just the normal stuff, decat, lowered ?? filter, boost gauge and a few other bells and whistles..

i'm looking around £3 for my sub after all the engine has just been rebuilt, so if i get near it (say £2,500) what would i be able to get ???

yup i well stuck, heard bad things about evo's like i did about scoobies..

hi i would say get a 4 over a 3 but thats just me.

most on here would say get a e5 but if you cant afford one then try and get a e4 with a later engine / stronger with more power potential .. :O)

as for the cossi i think a good one is out of this price bracket :O(

i must admit, i like black, but prefer red over the normal silver/grey and white..
same with scoobies, always had red, the white got common, black was a bit different and silver was normal and blue was, well...

i do like the 2 and 3 but also like the 4,5 and 6, so i'll be looking for a real nice red 2 or 3, or a black, red 4 with a 6 kit on, at least then it's sort of a 6

and certainly not bothered about mods and power, i'm more a standard form type of person..

surely would you not be better off to buy a 5? it's cheaper then a 6 but not much difference looks wise, it depends on your budget though, i do think your gonna struggle to find a 4 with a 6 kit on
or if you plan on buying the kit then thats gonna set you back a fair bit cos you'd need all new 6 panels then get them sprayed then fitted then get the bumpers, the spoiler, and bonnet if your gonna make it look like a 6 no point cutting corners

, the best bit is i got it off flee bay for 2k .

with mot and tax and loads of goodies on it . sold all the bits on that i didnt need and sold the car to my mate :O) made enough for a e 7 gear box and stage 3 e7 clutch and flywheel for my car ,

it needed some work but was still a bargain , got to love flee bay :O)
